Even the pope is trending

“Pope Francis now has his own mini pope-mobile,” said the
Associated Press last week. It’s a 1984 Renault 4 hatchback. The car is white,
and not just any white, but papal white. It’s a manual with 186,000 miles, and
the pope is driving it himself. Recent popes have gotten bigger, fancy pope-mobiles
from auto execs, but Pope Francis clearly believes less is more. Back in July, he urged priests to choose more “humble” cars. Now he is walking, er, driving, his talk. A reviewer on carguru.com said of the car, “My R4 has
…only let me down once.”
So the pope should find his new mini-mobile reliable, if not infallible.
